Some customers may comment that the hazard button, HVAC or driver information center (DIC) control buttons may stick when depressed.



Cause



There may be a slight amount of excess material on the instrument panel accessory trim plate at the openings for these control buttons.



Correction



Typical Automatic Climate Control System Control Button View



Typical Driver Information Center (DIC) and Hazard Button View



1. Test the operation of all of the above control buttons that are shown and called out in order to verify and determine which buttons are the



source of the customer concern.



锟斤拷 If any of the buttons stick when depressed, proceed to Step 2.



2. Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in SI.



3. Place the trim plate on a clean and protected workbench.



4. Use a fine file or an emery board to gently remove any excess material until the area is smooth and all contact with the affected buttons has



been eliminated.



5. Verify the proper operation of the control buttons while the trim plate is removed.



6. Install the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in SI.



7. Verify the proper operation of the control buttons with the trim plate installed.
