President Donald Trump is backtracking on his threat to close the southern border and said he will use auto tariffs instead to pressure Mexico to do more to limit the flow of migrants to the U.S. But Trump is still expected to highlight his hard-line posture on immigration with a scheduled trip to the border on Friday.
