One Child Killed, at Least 17 Wounded in Japanese Stabbing Rampage

Japanese news outlets say one child has been killed in a stabbing rampage near Tokyo Tuesday. National broadcaster NHK says a group of schoolchildren were waiting for their school bus in the Japanese city of Kawasaki when the attacker began slashing at the students. The suspected attacker has also died after stabbing himself in the neck. At least 17 others were also injured in the attack, including a handful of adults. The suspect has not been identified and a motive is not yet known.
